Derek Pew

Derek is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of MediaCast Holdings, LLC, the corporate entity that does business as SpectiCast.  Derek first conceived of SpectiCast while serving on the Board of Directors of the Philadelphia Orchestra as a solution to broaden audiences and create new revenue streams for cultural performing arts.  Since those early years, Derek has helped pioneer Exhibition Cinema in the United States building North American markets for cultural performing arts, rock concerts and various genre-specific cinematic events.

Prior to MediaCast, Derek was Chief Executive Officer of Network Acquisition Company, the entity that was formed to purchase the municipal wireless network in Philadelphia from EarthLink as well as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Boathouse Communications Partners, LLC and Pew Broadband Advisors, LLC, Chairman of Remi Communications, LLC and the former Co-Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Wireless Philadelphia.

Derek has served on multiple charitable boards including, the Philadelphia Orchestra Association, the Maestro’s Committee of the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Advisory Boards of the Metropolitan AIDS Neighborhood Nutrition Alliance of Pennsylvania and the Greene Towne School, the Board of Overseers of the University of Pennsylvania Law School, the Board of Directors of the Free Library of Philadelphia Foundation where he chaired the Technology Committee, and is a current member of the Board of Trustees of the Agnes Irwin School.

Sascha Majcenic

Sascha joined Rising Alternative to manage operations and IT Infrastructure.

Marina Bladé

Born in Paris from Mexican and Catalan parents, Marina’s work has always revolved around cultural and creative industries. A graduate in Archaeology and Ancient History at the University of Barcelona, she started her professional career as a documentary Acquisitions Manager for a distributor of audiovisual programmes and later transferred to a record company where she ended up leading the International Licensing Department. In 2000, she switched to the Publishing sector and worked as a Rights and Contracts manager for 15 years both for Publishers and for Literary Agencies. Thus her expertise in rights management encompasses a wide range of sectors.

She has lived in Paris, Barcelona and London. She is passionate of traveling, cinema and literature.

Giovanni Cozzi

Giovanni Cozzi created Rising Alternative to expand the international distribution of the Opera and Ballet in Cinema program he had developed at Emerging Pictures. Emerging Pictures, also known as Emerging Cinemas, is a company he co-founded in 2000.

From 2000 to 2007, Giovanni and his partners developed the first network of digital venues that exclusively used digital server and projectors to exhibit international / independent films, Emerging Cinemas. In 2007 he spearheaded the introduction of alternative content into Emergings network by negotiating an agreement for the exclusive distribution of the high definition productions from the legendary Teatro all Scala into digital cinemas.

In the following years, Giovanni secured the international theatrical rights for the productions from Europes most prestigious Opera, Ballet and Classical Music institutions such as the Salzburg Festival, the Gran Teatre del Liceu ( Barcelona), the Teatro Real (Madrid), the Berliner Philharmoniker, the Mariinsky- Kirov (St Petersburg), the Bolshoi (Moscow) and many others.

Prior to Emerging Pictures, Giovanni was the President of Vidikron, a consumer electronics company he founded in 1988 and which specialized in high-definition projection systems. The products were sold through a network of dealers in 43 countries worldwide and were known for their high performance and unique industrial design by Pininfarina, the legendary stylist of the Ferrari sports cars.

Giovanni began his entrepreneurial career as a co-founder of Italys first commercial radio station, Radio Milano International, in 1975.
