Mahler’s Third Symphony Ballet from Opera de Paris LIVE on April 18

On April 18, Rising Alternative presents the ballet  “Third Symphony” in a live broadcast from the Opera de Paris in Paris, France as part of its Performing Arts in HD Cinema series. “Third Symphony,” with music by Gustav Mahler and choreography by John Neumeier, is an osmosis between music and dance, with a rich palette of emotions ranging from existential angst to mystical faith. Neumeier’s lyrical and powerful choreography features his trademark elegance, curved lines and vertiginous lifts. The monumental “Third Symphony” was composed by Mahler as “a great hymn to the glory of all creation.”

Después de La Sílfide, El lago de los cisnes, La hija del faraón, El cascanueces, La Bayadera y Don Quijote, llega el 31 de marzo, ESMERALDA, famosísima pieza clásica del repertorio de ballet. A esta pieza le seguirá Romeo y Julieta, el 12 de mayo, completando la serie y dando por terminada la temporada del Bolshoi en los cines.

Este conocido ballet, ESMERALDA, en versión coreográfica de Vasily Medvedev, pertenece al repertorio clásico desde que se estrenó en Londres en 1844 con Carlotta Grisi como primera bailarina. Fascinante y romántica obra de Jules Perrot, se inspiró en la novela de Víctor Hugo “Notre Dame de Paris” (1831).

On March 12, Rising Alternative presents the opera “Falstaff” in a live broadcast from the Opera de Paris, France, as part of its Performing Arts in HD Cinema series. “Falstaff” with music by Giuseppe Verdi and a libretto by his longtime collaborator, Arrigo Boito, presents a lighthearted and colorful retelling of Shakespeare’s classic comedy. Ambrogio Maestri stars as the bumbling knight Falstaff, alongside Svetla Vassileva, Artur Rucinski, Paolo Fanale and Elena Tsallagova as the neighbours who trick him time and again.
